Funny, i was thinking today that shit really is starting to fall apart as many had predicted. keef's timing certainly seems on track. curious to know what you guys think the summer will bring for us.

btw--this is all going from mildly amusing to quite disturbing...i was on a conference call this morning on a finance deal--people are worried; perhaps even scared but reluctant to admit it.

i had a guy today joke that, "assuming the banking system doesn't collapse, we should get XYZ done by mid-summer". it was supposed to be a joke but everyone on the conference call just sat there....you could have heard a pin drop.

anyway, i understand in parts of spain they are out of gas and food; in parts of the UK they are out of gas....i have to wonder if those shortages won't find their way to us here in the US this summer.

there's a mobile storage unit at the far corner of the parking lot adjacent to our offices. last week i was behind on work and had to stay a few more hours every night to get it done, and while pulling out of the lot i saw a 5x5 board between the wall and the storage container, and behind the container was a camping tent.

i don't see the board and tent there during work hours, but at night i've been seeing it there every night for the past week.

on saturday i came in to pick up a few things from my office, and i saw the guy who sleeps there. he's a white guy, around mid 40's, i'd say. he didn't seem like a hobo at all. he rolled in on a mountain bike, moved the board to cover that narrow gap of space between the container and the wall, and set up camp.

been working here for almost 13 years now and i've never seen that before.

I planned on going through this without weapons, but I keep seeing that long haired rastifarian dude with the tub of Heinikens during the looting of New Orleans and say,,,fck, it's time to Lock and Load and the shit hasn't even started yet. I figured we were in the eye of the storm right after the fed bailed out stearns.. Now we may be comming out boys.. Can they keep it going til the election? No... hahaha, but they sure will try. The stimulus checks just came out, that will buy us another month... This isn't a sudden 'crash'. This is the slow decent to hell route. Witness the slow screaming death of capitalism. Happens every so often.

Timelines are really kinda moot.
The point is, is that it's getting harder and harder to imagine things (banking system, growth-based economics, resource depletion) going on this way for much longer.

If you do not believe that we have already begun to collapse, then you probably at least believe that collapse is in our future.

Might as well embrace it....

Here's an observation. The Army Corp of Engineers have shut down a part of the mississippi river to protect the locks from flood damage. Millions of tons of grain ships down this river on it's way overseas. It is now blocked here. Coincidence?
